- Despite a fantastic 47% increase in awareness of sepsis (from 45% to 66%) over the last year, a shocking 1 in 3 Britons still haven’t even heard of it.
- Nearly half of those polled (45%) could not offer any opinion on what sepsis is- though this has improved from 62% last year
- 18-24 year olds were the least aware, with only 44% having heard of sepsis compared with 75% of over-65s
- Of those who have heard of sepsis, it’s worrying that 25% don’t believe it to be a medical emergency..
