If music is your motivator, the Simplyhealth Great Birmingham 10k is the perfect event for you. Strut your stuff across the start line to the most popular tunes from the 70s, 80s, 90s, noughties or present day, then hit the streets to your favourite music for an electric party atmosphere that will keep you going as you walk, jog, run – or even dance – all the way from the start to your well-deserved finisher’s pack!
Starting on Jennens Rd, close to Millennium Point and Thinktank, the route heads downhill, through Digbeth before heading out along Pershore Road to the furthest turn point at Cannon Hill Park. The route winds through the park and then crosses the road to Edgbaston Cricket Ground where the route takes in a lap of the stadium. After returning back along Pershore Rd the route passes Selfridges and the Bullring Shopping Centre before a short uphill section back to Jennens Rd. The final fast and flat section is downhill to the finish line on Curzon St, outside of Millennium Point.
Having crossed the finish line, participants will be able to relax and meet up with friends and family in the event village.
There will be support along the way, including drinks stations and bands on the run not to mention the encouragement of thousands of supporters and spectators lining the route.
