Virtual Coffee Morning

Who doesn’t love a good chit-chat over a cup of coffee? Just because we can’t get together and meet face-to-face, doesn’t mean that we can’t come together virtually; our Coffee Morning is the perfect chance to have a good natter all for a good cause! Don’t forget, physical distancing doesn’t have to mean social distancing! Now, all that’s left to do is get the kettle on, the biscuits out, and away you go!

The Basics Open

Firstly, choose a date that works best for you and your network. Then, pick your virtual ‘coffee shop’ platform. There are plenty you can choose from, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom or House Party.

Creating your Giving Page Open

We’ve included a link here which will take you straight to JustGiving where you can create your page. We’ve also got a brilliant Online Fundraising Guide below, which offers some great advice on making the most from your page.

  • Tip: Don’t forget, you can include all of your event details directly on your giving page, such as the event date and time, entry fee to join and how they can connect to your coffee morning. That way, all of the information is in one place.
Spread the Word Open

Whether it be through text, email or social media, spread the word and ask your friends, family or colleagues to join. The more people you can get involved, the better! This is a social event after all and the Coffee Morning poster below is a great way to help advertise on your social media platforms.

  • Tip: Don’t forget to let people know why our cause means so much to you and why they should join your coffee morning. Plus, why not share the link to your JustGiving page, so people can donate directly.
Don't Forget, this is a Fundraiser Open

The hardest part about fundraising can sometimes be to simply ask for a donation. Why not ask people to make a donation to join your Virtual Coffee Morning?

  • Tip: Why not incorporate other fundraising activities into your coffee morning? Old favourites like Guess the Sweets in the Jar or Name the Teddy always goes down well. If you don’t have sweets, you can always improvise; guess the pasta in the jar could work just as well! You could ask your supporters to donate £2 to make their guess, with the winner receiving a prize (you may have to write them an IOU for this).
You're Ready to go! Open

Now for the main event; boil your kettles, get your biscuits out and away you go! Hosting a Coffee Morning will not only be a great way to raise funds for the Trust, but it’s a brilliant opportunity to raise sepsis awareness amongst your friends and family!
