Virtual Scavenger Hunt

Not quite the traditional scavenger hunt, but UKST are asking you to keep those social activities going by gathering your friends, family and colleagues for a bit of virtual, friendly competition.

The Challenge

  • Select your challenge host. This could be you as the event organiser, or you could nominate somebody else.
  • Select a set of objects which can be found in most households; e.g. toothbrush, spoon, shoe, phone charger etc. The number of objects you choose, will be the number of rounds in your game – one object per round.
  • At the beginning of each round, tell your players the object which they are hunting. The first player back to their screen with the object in their hand, wins a point.
  • The player with the most point at the end of your game, wins!

The Basics Open

Firstly, choose a date that works best for you and your network. Then, pick your virtual platform; there are plenty you can choose from, whether that be Microsoft Teams, Zoom or House Party.

Create your Giving Page Open

We’ve included a link here which will take you straight to JustGiving where you can create your page. Plus, we’ve got a brilliant Online Fundraising Guide below, which offers some great advice on making the most from your page.

  • Tip: Don’t forget, you can include all of your event details directly on your giving page, such as the event date and time, entry fee to join and how they can connect to your Scavenger Hunt. That way, all of the information is in one place.
Spread the Word Open

Whether it be through text, email or social media, spread the word and ask your friends, family or colleagues to take part. The more people you can get involved, the better! We’ve even included a Scavenger Hunt poster below, to advertise your event on your social media platforms.

  • Tip: Don’t forget to let people know why our cause means so much to you and why they should take part in your event. Plus, why not share the link to your JustGiving page, so people can donate directly.
Don't Forget, this is a Fundraiser Open

The hardest part about fundraising can sometimes be asking for a donation. Why not ask your Scavenger Hunt participants to make a donation to play?

Away you go Open

Now for the fun part; get your participants ready for the hunt, and you’re off! Don’t forget to download our Scavenger Hunt Scoring Sheet so you can easily keep track of everybody’s score after each round. You could even provide a virtual prize for your winners, and a forfeit for your losers!
