Funeral collection

A way to remember someone you love and make a difference in their memory.

When someone we love passes away, finding meaningful ways to honour their life can be an important part of grieving. For many people, collecting funeral donations is a way to celebrate someone special while supporting a cause that mattered to them.

Leaving a gift in your will

How to collect funeral and memorial donations

There are several simple ways to collect funeral donations, depending on what feels right for you and your family.

1.Choose how you would like to collect

The easiest way to collect donations is online, where you can set up a funeral collection and memorial with us in just a few simple steps.

Your online collection can then become a space to share funeral details and a place where friends and family can make a donation, leave messages, and share photos, memories, music, videos, and more.

If you prefer collecting donations in person, let your funeral director know you’d like to support the UK Sepsis Trust.

2.Share with family and friends

Once your online collection is set up, share the details with family and friends so they know how they can make a donation and contribute to the tribute.

You can include the information in the funeral announcement or order of service or simply share the link to your online page.

3.Keep their memory alive by updating their online funeral notice

The tribute can become a lasting place to remember your loved one. Before, during and after the funeral, family and friends can come together to share memories and messages and continue making donations in their loved one’s memory.

You can also keep the tribute up to date with timeline entries and updates, choosing whether you want to keep it public or private.

Why collect funeral donations in memory of a loved one?

Donating in memory of someone is a special way to commemorate their life and make a difference in their name.

Funeral collections can:

  • Support a cause that was important to your loved one.
  • Give family and friends a way to honour their memory.
  • Give people who can’t attend the funeral a way to show their support.
  • Help create a lasting legacy in their name.

If you choose to support the UK Sepsis Trust, your donations will help us save lives from sepsis and support people and families affected.

You don't have to go through this alone

Losing a loved one to sepsis can leave you with grief, questions, and feelings that are difficult to put into words, but you don’t have to go through it alone.

Whether you need a safe space to share your feelings through a 1:1 conversation or want to connect with others, our Support Nurses are here to listen, offer reassurance, and help answer any questions you may have.
