Understanding benefits after sepsis
Wednesday 7th October, 12.30pm
If you’ve been affected by sepsis – whether you’re in recovery or are caring for someone who is – you may be facing unexpected hurdles, often with limited professional advice.
Many survivors and their families receive little information about the after-effects of sepsis or what to expect in the months following discharge from hospital. Recovery from such a serious illness can take time, regardless of age, prior health, or activity level.
But support is available, and you don’t have to go through it alone.
In this session, will be hearing from Welfare Benefits Adviser Jane Nelson about what benefits are available and how you can claim them.
- An overview of the disability and carer’s benefits available.
- How a claim is assessed and different levels of award.
- How to challenge a decision.
- Impact of an award on a means tested benefit.
