Resources for Schools: sign-up

Approximately 25,000 children are affected by sepsis in the UK each year. To raise awareness, the UK Sepsis Trust (UKST) has developed a bank of PSHE resources for schools so that staff and some of the 11.7 million students better understand the dangers of the condition.

Our teaching resources have been designed in collaboration with volunteers across each of the five Key Stages. Each lesson contains:

  • A lesson plan
  • An accompanying PowerPoint presentation
  • Teacher notes for every slide detailing additional information, topics to discuss and questions to ask
  • Embedded videos to help engage the students
  • Case studies of young adults who have recently suffered from sepsis (KS4/5 lessons only)

Fundraising

As your school learns about sepsis, students and/or staff may want to fundraise for the UKST. This can be done in many varied and fun ways, such as having a non-uniform day, a health and fitness challenge or a sponsored silence.

The Fundraising Team at the UKST can help schools maximise their efforts by setting up online donation pages through JustGiving or by discussing ideas for activities with you. We can also send you resources to support your fundraising.

Feedback

We’d love to see the work that your students create. Please send photographs and/or examples to schools@sepsistrust.org.

Likewise, we’d appreciated any feedback, comments or suggestions that you have about the resources. You can access a questionnaire here.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
