Support with bereavement

Losing someone close to you can be one of the hardest things you’ll ever experience in life, but it isn’t something that you have to go through alone. Our support can be accessed by anybody who has been bereaved – no matter how long ago this loss was.

Our sepsis support nurses understand only too well how quickly sepsis can kill and how devastating such a tragic loss can be. We are here to help you understand what happened to your loved one and to try and answer your questions. Talk to us by calling our sepsis helpline on 0808 800 0029 or contact us by email.

There are also several bereavement charities that can offer specialist advice and support to adults and children that have lost someone close to them:

Child Bereavement UK Open

Child Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. The charity supports children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying.

Child Bereavement UK provides training to professionals in health and social care, education, the emergency services and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.
