Challenge basecamp is in Kendal, and it’s a 100km looped route with a few tough hills to Ambleside; a halfway point by Lake Windermere with stunning views enroute, and a huge welcome back at basecamp! Join up to 2,000 adventurers and sign up as an individual or as a team; you’ll get full support all the way, plenty of food & drink, optional camping& transfers, a special medal, T shirt and celebration finish. With 50km half, marathon, quarter & 10kmdistance options also available – there’s a Lake District Challenge for everyone! - Full ‘Daylight’ – 100 km over 2 days – overnight YMCA Lakeside hostel / B&B option at Windermere half way.
- 1st Half ~50 km taking in Garburn Pass & Ambleside to Windermere Lakeside, with YMCA hostel option. New ULTRA MARCH Option available – do it in less than 12 hours as a walk / trek
- 2nd Half ~50 km from Lakeside & also ideal if you want to join up with a Full Challenge friend.
- Lakes Marathon 42 km – New for 2024. Takes in the stunning first quarter, and adds a fantastic loop around Ambleside.
- Quarters – if 29 km might suit you – the stunning 1st Quarter goes to Ambleside via the tough Garburn Pass.
- Ambleside 10K – a truly fantastic looped route from our major Rest Stop – and perfect if you’re staying near by and want a short / sharp challenge!
