TRAIN THE TRAINER
A new learning programme from UKST designed to help healthcare settings build in-house expertise in sepsis care and improve frontline clinical practice.
Train the Trainer, a new CPD certified learning programme created by the UK Sepsis Trust, is designed to empower medical professionals in acute hospitals with the specialised, practical sepsis management training that’s currently missing from general medical education.
Delivered live and online by a doctor in emergency medicine, the course enables hospitals to create their own internal, qualified sepsis trainers.
Who is Train the Trainer for?
This interactive course is ideal for anyone working in an acute setting.
We know that health professionals are faced with growing caseloads, reduced staffing levels and an increasingly migratory workforce. Administrative workload is growing, study leave budgets are reducing, and expectations around invasive therapies in an aging population are increasing. That’s why is more important than ever that you empower yourself – and your colleagues – to deliver high quality education, at scale, internally.
WHAT TRAIN THE TRAINER COVERS
- Introduction to sepsis
- The burden of sepsis
- The principles of sepsis
- A case study
- Defining sepsis
- The pathophysiology of sepsis
- The Sepsis 6
- Post Sepsis Syndrome
Train the Trainer includes brand new materials developed by Dr Ron Daniels BEM and the team in response to new guidelines and is CPD certified. This means anyone taking part in the course will receive CPD hours, and anyone they then go on to train in their organisation will also benefit from CPD hours.
Train the Trainer [has been] an invaluable resource for our sepsis education. We use them on our quarterly sepsis face to face study days, and the audience consistently feeds back that they are extremely user-friendly and highly informative. We use the information concurrently with the e-learning module for all clinical staff which is also produced by the UK Sepsis Trust and they complement each perfectly.
We would highly recommend these materials to any NHS Trust delivering sepsis training for their staff.
