The UK Sepsis Trust is proud to celebrate an extraordinary year of partnership with M&C Saatchi World Services – whose team raised an incredible £56,000 as part of their Charity of the Year 2025 commitment – making this the most successful fundraising year in the company’s history.

This achievement was driven by the passion and determination of Maria Campanini, who spearheaded the partnership in memory of her sister, Gina, who tragically died from sepsis in September 2023 at just 30 years old. Since then, the Campanini family have been dedicated to raising awareness and funds in Gina’s memory: in 2025 alone, Maria ran 12 half marathons and a full marathon for UKST, as well hosting a number of community events and securing national coverage.

At the start of 2025, Maria set out to double the £21,870 her family had previously raised for UKST. Just 12 months later, that figure stands at an astonishing £102,637.28.

Maria says: “An enormous thank you goes to my incredible colleagues at M&C Saatchi World Services who voted the UKST as our Charity of the Year for 2025 and opened their hearts to give Gina the legacy she deserves.”

Throughout 2025, M&C Saatchi World Services employees filled their calendars with skydives, marathons, quizzes, auctions, talent shows, bake sales, and more raising awareness and vital funds to help fight sepsis. Their creativity and commitment has been amazing, and we are hugely grateful for their support.

Iain Blackwood Hobbs, Corporate Partnerships Coordinator, says: “Every pound raised by M&C Saatchi World Services is a lifeline. It means we can put sepsis symptoms on the side of ambulances, train thousands of healthcare professionals, and keep sepsis high on the NHS agenda. This partnership doesn’t just raise funds, it saves lives.

“Every conversation sparked by M&C Saatchi’s efforts could prevent another family from experiencing the heartbreak that Maria’s family has endured. Gina’s legacy, powered by their generosity, will change the future of sepsis care in the UK.”

From all of us at UKST, thank you to M&C Saatchi for standing with us and Maria, and for helping us fight sepsis together.

And, of course, thank you to Maria and the rest of the Campanini family for sharing Gina’s story and continuing to raise vital awareness and funds.
