Summary
Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that arises when the body’s response to an infection injures its own tissues and organs. This module focuses on the causes, signs, and treatment of sepsis in children, including UKST’s ‘Sepsis 6’ pathway (which halves the risk of patients dying).
This module is recommended for all clinicians and health workers working with children. Users may wish to complete the Introduction to Sepsis module to gain initial awareness of sepsis before undertaking this learning.
Course Objectives
- Identify common causes of sepsis
- Outline the risk factors for children
- Identify the red flag signs
- Describe the diagnosis, management, and treatment of children with sepsis
On successful completion of the assessment at the end of the module, you will be able to download a UK Sepsis Trust certificate.
If you purchase multiples of the same module, you will be contacted by a member of our team for registration details of all participants.
For organisations wishing to host this content on their own Learning Management System, this module can be provided in SCORM or TinCan/xAPI format. For further details, please request a quote using the Contact page.
