Why take part?

Sepsis is a serious condition that affects 245,000 people every year in the UK. At the UK Sepsis Trust, we work to save lives from sepsis and improve outcomes for survivors, raising public awareness, educating health professionals, and supporting those who have been affected by this devastating condition.

But we can’t do it alone.

By taking part in this challenge, you’re not just boosting your own health – you’re helping us on our life-saving mission, too.

You can take part where you like, whether that’s at home, in the park or on holiday! Whatever works best for you.

How far is 10,000 steps a day?

Based on the average person’s stride, 10,000 steps is equal to 5 miles (or 8 km), or an hour and 40 minutes walking, depending on your stride length and walking speed.

I have set up a Facebook/JustGiving fundraising page. Now what do I do to get my UKST t-shirt?

If you’ve officially registered (click here if you haven’t), we’ll send you your t-shirt and A4 tracker once you’ve raised £15.. Please note, they will be dispatched twice a week, and delivery can take between 5-8 working days.

All donations kindly made to your Facebook or JustGiving fundraiser will be sent automatically to the UK Sepsis Trust.

What happens if I don’t complete my challenge?

Please don’t be disheartened – the most important thing is that you challenged yourself and raised vital awareness of sepsis amongst your family and friends on Facebook. All funds you raise will help us continue our life-saving work.

Do I need to provide evidence to the charity that I have completed the challenge?

We trust you, and you don’t need to provide evidence to us in anyway. But make sure you keep your friends and family up to date on your Facebook fundraiser!
