SOCIAL MEDIA VOLUNTEER

Help spread life-saving information from wherever you are. 

Do you use social media and want to make a difference in a way that works for you? As a Social Media Volunteer for the UK Sepsis Trust, you’ll help raise awareness of sepsis by sharing our messages, campaigns, and information online. 

This is a flexible, remote opportunity open to anyone. Whether you’re new to volunteering or looking for a role that fits around other commitments, we welcome your voice and support.

More about this role
What you’ll do:
  • Share content from the UK Sepsis Trust on your preferred social media channels (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn). 
  • Take part in national awareness moments, such as World Sepsis Day or Sepsis Awareness Month, using our ready-made posts and hashtags. 
  • Share our message in local or interest-based online communities where appropriate. 
  • Encourage others to learn about sepsis  for example, by watching a video, visiting our website, or reading about the signs and symptoms. 
  • If you feel comfortable, share your personal connection to sepsis to help others understand its impact. 
What we provide:
  • Regular digital content packs with suggested text, visuals, and hashtags. 
  • Guidance on how to share content in a safe and respectful way, including how to avoid misinformation. 
  • A clear and supportive onboarding process. 
  • Ongoing support from our team, opportunities to share your feedback, and recognition as a valued member of our volunteer community. 
Who this role is for:
  • Someone who wants to support a life-saving cause in a way that fits around your life. 
  • Active on social media and keen to use your voice for something meaningful. 
  • Interested in public health, awareness-raising, or using digital platforms for good. 
  • New to volunteering, or looking for something flexible, remote, and low-pressure. 

Whether you’ve been personally affected by sepsis or simply want to help share vital health information, this role is a chance to make a real difference 

Time commitment:

This is a flexible role. There are no set hours or posting targets  you can share content in a way that suits you. Whether it’s once a month or more frequently, every post helps spread vital awareness in your community.

Sepsis affects 245,000 people in the UK each year and can be life-threatening without early treatment. At UKST, we are dedicated to saving lives and improving outcomes for sepsis survivors. But we can’t do it alone. By helping us reach more people online, you’ll be raising awareness, encouraging early recognition, and contributing to a nationwide effort to save lives.
